The products elaborated in the framework of current mapping in rush mode activation arerealized to the best of our ability, within a very short time frame during a crisis, optimising theavailable data and information. All geographic information has limitations due to scale, resolution, date and interpretation of the original data sources. The products are compliantwith Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping Product Portfolio specifications.

Heavy rainfall and strong winds in the northwest of the former Yugoslav Republic ofMacedonia have caused rivers to overflow, flash floods, landslides and storm damage. Themost affected areas are Tetovo city and municipality, and surrounding areas. Many homeswere damaged, several were evacuated. At least seven villages in the region lost roadaccess because of mudslides, while the storm also caused bridges to collapse. The eventclaimed the lives of several people. The core users of the map are Civil Protection authorities involved in in-field operations. The scope of the map production is to support emergency response activities.

Delivery formats are GeoTIFF, GeoPDF, GeoJPEG and vectors (shapefile and KML formats).Map products available in the Copernicus EMS Portal at the following URL:http://emergency.copernicus.eu/mapping/list-of-components/EMSR129All products are © of the European Union.

Map ProductionThe present map shows the the flood and landslide delineation in the area of Mala Recica(the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). The basic topographic features are derivedfrom public datasets, refined by means of visual interpretation of pre-event ESRI WorldImagery. Thematic layers, assessing the delineation of the event, have been derived fromPleiades post-event image. All satellite images have been radiometrically enhanced, orthocorrected with RPC approach (using SRTM elevation data). The estimated geometricaccuracy of this product is 5 m CE90 or better, from native positional accuracy of thebackground satellite image. The estimated thematic accuracy of this product is 85 % orbetter, as it is based on visual interpretation of recognizable items on very high resolutionoptical imagery. Only the area enclosed by the Area of Interest has been analyzed.
