making the numbers count! how the finance function can add value in a non profit environmentt

With this presentation I was instantly hired for a Finance Director position in a large NGO. This was a huge step forward in my career. This presentation also marked a turning point in my career. It made me realize I was not going to take my career to the next level by working harder. On the contrary! I realized that to step into a leadership position I needed to develop a clear vision for me life and career, to be able to share my vision in a clear and compelling way, build strong relationships and a reputation as a trusted adviser, focus on inspiring en empowering my team and last but not least take care of myself. I am now convinced it is possible to reinvent the finance function and overcome the stereotype of the overworked, overwhelmed number crunching accountant hiding behind piles of paper and immersed in huge excel spreadsheets. I want to bring the fun into finance and inspiration into the workplace!
