The Reading Agency’s Six Book Challenge invites less confident readers to pick six reads and record their reading in a diary to receive a certificate and incentives along the way. It also encourages them to go online to share their reading choices and look for their next read ona new website sponsored by mobile company Three.

At least 35,000 people have taken part in 2013 through public libraries,colleges, adult and community learning, prisons and workplaces –nearly 50% up on 2012. Ninety per cent of survey respondents saidthey felt more confident about reading having taken part in the Six Book Challenge.
