MY MAGAZINE

LANGUAGE I used informal language in my

magazine to make it appeal to a younger audience and not seem formal.

By using informal language I can relate more to my readers and people will be interested in what I have written in the magazine.

For my DPS I did an interview instead of an article to make it less informal. As I wrote the responses I made them very interesting so my readers would be interested in the cover star.

FONT I have used two main

fonts throughout my magazine to make things appear easy on the eye

My masthead’s font is bold and captivating

All of the fonts I used are Sans Serif as it is modern and would appeal to my target audience.

This font is different to make it stand out, I added a drop shadow to make it very noticeable towards people.

I used this font for my main cover line as it is very bold and makes a statement.

I put the titles in italics so they pop out.

I have outlined the text in white so it can be visible in front of the image.

I changed the font for my editors note to make it seem more personal and as if I actually signed it.

CONTENTS Using my audience

research I learnt what I should place in my contents such as music reviews, gig dates, posters and competitions.

All of these items attract readers to want to buy the magazine

MODEL The model I used wore make up to give her an

edgy rock look, she had dyed hair making her

appeal more to the reader as this is something

they would do.

Her hair is out and in the DPS picture it is

tugged to make it alternative.

She is wearing a black top with no sleeves,

black is usually associated with rock and the

style of the top is edgy.

The model is the same age as my target

audience so she can relate to the audience

The model is attractive so will catch peoples

eye when they are browsing magazines.

PROPS & IMAGES I used a guitar as a prop in

my magazine It will attract more people

especially as it is a rock magazine

I used a variety of camera shots for my magazine such as medium close up and close up. The close up shots made it more personal towards the cover star.
