Background●In the US, over 17 million individuals

●There are approximately 7,800 spinal cord injuries per year

○ Resulting in approximately 4,000 newly paraplegic and 3,800 newly quadriplegic individuals each year

●In addition, over 50 million individuals are diagnosed with Arthritis

○ Approximately 1 in 6 of these individuals, or 8.3 million individuals, express difficulty walking
