MOBILE TECHNOLOGY IN PONTARDDULAIS PRIMARYSCHOOL

• In three years, there have been many changes.

• Even today, changes are to happen within the school environment.

• Just compare the following lists:

WHY USE IPADS ANDMOBILE TECHNOLOGY?

According to www.ipadineducation.co.uk, iPads: • ‘will help to personalise learning’.• ‘time is wasted not being able to ‘log

in’’ as there is no network .• Outdoor learning can be introduced

thanks to ‘Wi-Fi throughout the school buildings’.

• iPads need little maintenance.

WHY USE IPADS ANDMOBILE TECHNOLOGY?

• Learner, teacher and school in control of their technology.

• No more ICT suites.• New and innovative software which

reflect the learner’s needs.• Saving files takes place

automatically.• The iPad can be an ‘anywhere

anytime’ learning device.• The iPad is a Personal Learning

Studio.• Click to see the website.

WHAT MAKES IT SUCCESSFUL?

• How can we make it successful?

• We must learn how to do it ourselves.

doing.

everything.

• There are many different views on the use of iPads and mobile technology in school.

RULESFOR MOBILE TECHNOLOGY

• Only members of staff to have passwords.

• Websites chosen by staff only.• No purchasing anything off the App

problems.• Ensure all laptops and iPads are

returned to hub for charging.

THE FUTURE?• Apple TV in all classrooms.

CONCLUSION• iPads and Apple TV can be very

beneficial.

• It is a fun, hands-on form of learning that can be catered to everyone’s needs.

• Do not become too reliant on it.

• Children still need basic handwriting skills, they still need to have the feel of a book.

CONCLUSION• Not the centre of education.

• Children still need to use actual materials

• Must be an aid.

• Not the basis.
