ABOUT SANS SOUCI
For centuries, wonderful pictures comprised of small glass pieces which can only bemade out when seen as a whole have been used for interior decoration. Sans Souci glassmosaics are manufactured using fused glass technology, which gives colours of extraor-dinary depth, life and a unique texture. Every single square out of thousands is a uniquework of art which has passed through many hands. Combined with our modern vacuumcoating technology, our mosaics achieve an intensity of colour which is unrivalled on themarket.
In addition to classic glass mosaics, our MOSAIC range also features other tilingmaterials which use glass as a basic component – thanks to the now establishedprocesses of sand-blasting, water-jet cutting and firing, the glass pieces can be made intooriginal designs which look great anywhere.
As they are hand-made, designs made by Sans Souci can easily accommodateeach of our customer’s requirements, can be combined with other tiling materials and canuse other non-standard formats. Our company designers and engineers are ready to cre-ate unique mosaic pictures which are not only functional as walls or floors, but also makethe whole room stand out.
The 16 basic colours which Sans Souci offers are a small example of what we canoffer and only serve as a basic idea. Other colours, tones and shades can be used forany compositions, whether standard mosaic tiles or the artistic creations of our companydesigners.
The high level of hand craft and the attention paid to every detail distinguish allSANS SOUCI product ranges.
ABOUT MOSAIC
The company Sans Souci originates from more than one thousand years long history ofglass processing in all kinds of forms, shapes and methods of use. We apply traditionalglass production methods and handcraft as well as most advanced technologies and non-traditional approaches to the creation of glass products supplied all over the world.
Even the mosaic belongs to the most traditional cladding materials, the new tech-nologies and possibilities of combination with other materials bring this kind of wallpanneling to the 21st century. Using the newest technologies combined with traditionalcraftsmanship gives to the glass tiles unusual and very special optical characters what iscaptured not only by designers recognised worldwide but also by owners of luxury yachtsor private residences looking for uniqueness, perfect processing and an unusual solutioncustomized for their interiors.
With respect to a variety of use of glass and almost unlimited possibilities as to itscolour combinations, we are prepared to provide our customers with the overall servicestarting with the creation of a design draft for an individual pattern on any of shown tilingmaterials up to installation in given interior. The close cooperation between the customerand our experienced designers and technologists gives a rise of truly unique solutionsmoving forward the options for processing designs.
I believe that you will be captured by magic light reflections glittering on glass pan-nels of different shapes and collours, and that you won´t hesitate to fall to their timelessbeauty.

GLASS MOSAIC
SANS SOUCI TECHNIQUES
1. Glass MosaicA pattern made up of numerous small pieces, this is a classic tiling format. Modern colour treat-ments, new designs and numerous applications have brought mosaics into contemporary 21stcentury interiors.
2. Glass Mosaic in CombinationGlass mosaic in combination with structural glass and the use of interesting palettes of colourand texture, give an original impression, whether using large prominent patterns or subtler bor-dering and dividing components.
3. Double Cut CoatingLarge ornamental glass surfaces lend themselves to combinations of colours in one pattern.Quality manufacture and sharp clean edges give an unlimited range of possibilities.
4. Water-Jet CuttingA complex and relatively new technique, which is particularly suitable for modern, originallyshaped designs. A playfulness of colours in combination with various ornamental tile texturesalways creates an unexpected, unique result.
5. SandblastingOur glass tiles achieve an incomparable depth and softness in their colours and shapes whensandblasted. Varying sandblasting layers allow us to create simple or complex textured patterns.
6. Structural GlassVacuum coating allows ornamental and wire glass to achieve tiling material quality and makethem suitable for any interior. Their big advantage is the number of colours and their ability to beused in combination with other materials and technologies.
7. Bubble TilesThese tiles, created by firing numerous glass balls of varying sizes, are among the most exclu-sive tiling materials. Their plasticity and optical properties make them particularly suitableanywhere where touch is important.
8. Arctic GlassLike a large sheet of ice, this is a safety glass with high decorative value. The light which refractsfrom the glass shards, fired at high pressure, enlivens every interior.

Before beginning to lay the tiles, measure the positionof each tile so that you choose areas which are straightfirst, into which you can position a complete tile. Anyangled areas or areas where tiles must be cut shouldbe left until last. Using the spirit level and chalk, markout the squares where each tile will fit. For complicat-ed patterns, follow the numbered marking of each tiles.Always plan your positioning so that you achieve therequired pattern, maintain horizontal and vertical linesand equal spacing between tiles.
Layinga. AdhesionUse only neutral adhesive material recommended bySans Souci. Carefully read the instructions supplied bythe manufacturer of the adhesive material. The adhe-sive must be mixed to the required thickness which willhold the tiles in place. Trowel a thin layer of adhesiveon the straight, even and clean surface. Then add asecond layer of adhesive with the notched trowel ontop of this fresh contact layer. When laying on surfaceswhich will be stressed (swimming pools, outside tilesetc.), apply a thin layer of adhesive on the preparedsurface and also on the back of the tile. Before theadhesive begins to form a film, lay the tiles in the stan-dard way in their place, preferably as squares made upof 4 or 9 tiles. Lay the tiles with the film facing you andensure the lines on the film all follow the same direc-tion. Mechanically remove any adhesive which hasbeen forced in between tiles, making space for thegrout. Do not prepare too large an area of adhesive –this will lead to the adhesive drying up. It is extremelydifficult to maintain equal spaces between separatemosaic blocks, and you should therefore use dowelsor rubber tile spacers. After finishing the next squareof 4 or 9 tiles (after about 30 minutes), return to yourpreviously laid tiles and carefully remove the film. Startat the corner of the tiles and carefully remove the filmby gently pulling diagonally across the tiles. You can
now use the smoothing trowel to make small adjust-ments to the position of the tiles. Continue this processuntil all the tiles are affixed. Leave to harden for24 hours before grouting.
b. Laying without groutingLarge sandblasted textured tiles can be affixed withoutgrouting. In this case, you should affix the tiles at a dis-tance of approx. 1 mm from each other so that thepattern is maintained.
c. GroutingUse only neutral modified grout (epoxy grout) compati-ble with the adhesive used. The colour you choose canhave a significant impact on the appearance of yourtiles. For this reason we recommend using grout in acolour which complements that of the tiles. Carefullyread and follow the instructions supplied by the groutmanufacturer. Before grouting, carefully clean the tilesof any remainders of film adhesive. Use a rubbersqueegee to spread the grout in a horizontal and verti-cal direction. Remove excess grout by wiping the rubbersqueegee in a diagonal direction. Follow the manufac-turer’s recommendations for cleaning the surface.
Cleaning and maintenanceAs all materials used do harden (adhesive, grout),the tiles can be cleaned using a glass cleaner and/ora neutral, gentle detergent and water.
GuaranteeThe manufacturer is not liable for damage causedthrough unprofessional laying or not following theseinstructions for laying glass tiles.

Cutting tilesThis tiling material can only be cut using special tools. We recommend you contact the manufacturer ora specialised company which deals with glass tilingmaterials. Before beginning to lay the tiles, measure the positionof each tile so that you choose areas which are straightfirst, into which you can position a complete tile. Anyangled areas or areas where tiles must be cut shouldbe left until last. Using the spirit level and chalk, mark
out the squares where each tile will fit.
Before theadhesive begins to form a film, lay the tiles in the stan-dard way in their place, preferably as shapes made upof more than 4 tiles. Lay the tiles with the flat smoothside down onto the surface. Mechanically remove anyadhesive which has been forced in between tiles, mak-ing space for the grout. Do not prepare too large anarea of adhesive – this will lead to the adhesive dryingup. It is extremely difficult to maintain equal spacesbetween separate mosaic blocks, and you shouldtherefore use dowels or rubber tile spacers. Continuethis process until all the tiles are affixed. Leave toharden for 24 hours before grouting.
b. GroutingUse only neutral silicon grout. The colour you choosecan have a significant impact on the appearance ofyour tiles. For this reason we recommend using trans-parent grout. Carefully read and follow the instructionssupplied by the silicon grout manufacturer. Beforegrouting, carefully clean the tiles of any remainders of
adhesive. Carefully place the tip of the silicon grouttube between the tiles and apply the silicon to the gapsusing constant movement. After finishing approx. 1 m2
of tiling, gently wipe the gaps with a spatula (can bebought with silicon grout). Follow the manufacturer’srecommendations for cleaning the surface.
Cleaning and maintenanceAs all materials used do harden (adhesive, grout), thetiles can be cleaned using a glass cleaner and/ora neutral, gentle detergent and water.
GuaranteeThe manufacturer is not liable for damage causedthrough unprofessional laying or not following theseinstructions for laying glass tiles.

C/ MAINTENANCEAll glass surfaces should be cleaned using gentle non-abrasive alkaline glass detergents. Use of unsuit-able cleaners can cause the dulling of the surface orchanges to colour. Grouting should be maintained inaccordance with the manufacturer’s recommenda-tions.Do not place the tiles under excessive pressure or sud-
den large changes in temperature. This can causeincreases in internal stresses within the glass and leadto the cracking of the glass tiles.
SANS SOUCI ALSO…
Sans Souci develops its potential in three main lines.
The first one is manufacturing of classic-style and modern-style lighting fixtures or lighting objecs asshown in catalogue, then also development and manufacturing of glass mosaics, unusual glass tilingmaterials and pieces of the mosaic art, and as third is GlassArt project based on co-operation withfamous Czech and foreign glass artists.
Lighting fixturesThe desire of a human being to capture light is connected from ages to sun, daylight and positive think-ing. We want our lighting fixtures to initiate the same – not be only functional but compliment the interiorthrough its appearance and crown so the art of their creators. The light beams in different glazed com-ponents and magnanimity of the materials used are the symbol not only classical, richly decorated lightsbut the underlining simple lines of modern designs.
GlassArtThe absolutely unique project is GlassArt. The basic idea is theinterconnection of artists and persons interested in this kind of arton the same platform. The virtual gallery’s aim is to make easier forartists to present their work all over the world and for the broadpublic to have presented there not only works of recognised artistsfrom abroad but also the information concerning the glass history, methods of processing, biographies of presented artists, news fromthe world of glass and many more interesting issues.
