The modern battlefield will be proliferated with unmanned andmanned entities. There will be many different communicationsnetworks supporting different applications which have to beseamless to work together in efficient ways to create impact tothe mission. FSTD is interested to seek innovative ideas andsolutions to enhance bandwidth usage and ensure connectivityacross this heterogeneous environment to overcome thechallenges of spectrum congestion, information security, robustness and resilience for operations.

2019-09 : Underwater Communications

FSTD is interested in novel technologies, not limiting to traditional acoustic approach, that can facilitate short range and long range, point-to-point as well as network underwater communications in a shallow water environment.

The communications technologies should be energy efficient and with small form fit that can support both static and mobile underwater nodes operations.

FSTD is also keen to explore communications using optical technologies to support high rate data transfer in shallow and turbid water conditions.
