BID

Design is a multi-disciplinary feedback loop. The output of other designers is traditionally taken into account through coordination at incremental stages of design: Concept, SD, DD, CD The output of this feedback loop gets bid and built. Nowhere in this traditional process do we measure data from an end-user perspective.

Grand Central Virtual Reality

Streetscape Virtual Reality

VR advantages Advantages

1. End user feedback loop/test before build

2. Massing/scaling interpretation

3. Online deployment

4. Mass feedback and engagement

5. Before and after comparison situations

6. Embodied experience vs drawing or 2D rendering that is conceptual only

What VR offers Planning projects

We show rather than tell

Immersive experience – helps reduce the barriers to understanding

Virtual pilot project

Opportunity to measure data on project and user performance

It is consistent with contemporary norms

Allows for design changes pre design and pre construction
