18 County Area of WNC= +/- 4,795,000 ac
Approximately 22% of County Area is National Forest.
Forested land in area +/- 3,982,929 ac of forest ( 82%)

So what is a Forest Plan?• A general framework to guide
forest management considering economic, social and environmental factors.
• Describes broad integrated management direction for the National Forests.
• Plans are programmatic in nature and do not make site specific decisions.
• If future assessments reveal a need to adapt management of an area, the Forest Plan may be amended.
• All management activities/uses must comply with Forest Plan direction.
