BRAND NEW AICB WEBSITE
AICB is pleased toannounce the launchof its new website,which went live on1 September 2015.
It has been redesigned to reflect
the changes taking place within the
Institute. A new membership framework
has been introduced, and also revisions
to the enrolment and exemption
policy. Focus has also been given to
the Institute’s core services, namely,
membership, education, examinations,
awards and thought leadership.
With the new website, visitors can
easily learn what the Institute does,
and how to get involved. Besides being
aesthetically pleasing, it is faster, more

BRIEFING SESSIONS ON NEW MEMBERSHIP FRAMEWORK, ENROLMENT AND EXEMPTION POLICY
With the recent introduction
of AICB’s new membership
framework and new enrolment
and exemption policy which
took effect on 1 September
2015, a series of full-day
briefing sessions was organised
by AICB and the Asian Banking
School (ABS) to provide clarity
on the changes.
AICB team took the lead
with information on the
new membership categories,
updates on the Continuing
Professional Development (CPD)
and the introduction of the
Professional Code of Conduct,
as well as the new enrolment
and exemptions policy which
was further clarified.
The briefing also covered
an extensive overview of
the new self-service portals.
ABS provided a detailed
explanation, together with a
live demonstration of the new
features and functions found
in both the Membership and
Student portals.
In the briefing, participants
learned about how to register
and update their AICB
membership profiles, renew
their membership, register for
events and manage their CPD.
It also included the registration
process for training and exam
sessions as well as access to
online learning resources.
The briefing was attended by
over 100 participants consisting
of personnel, predominantly
from banks’ learning and
development departments.
The briefing was held over four
days on 25 and 26 August; 2
and 3 September at the Asian
Banking School in KL Sentral.
More sessions will be held
periodically to support this roll

The Combating Financial Fraud
Conference, organised by
the AICB, will take place next
month at the Dorsett Grand
Labuan.
The conference, themed “Fifty
Shades of Crime”, promises to
be the best so far (3rd series),
with law enforcers and industry
experts sharing thoughts,
ideas and information on the
financial crime landscape in
today’s day and age.
A combination of domestic and
international speakers will be
featured, ranging from industry
experts to law enforcement
officers including Interpol and
the FBI.
This year’s event will kick
off with a pre-conference
workshop on 6 October 2015
titled “Critical Knowledge
in Combating AML/CTF
- Unmasking the Money
Launderers”, followed by a full
day conference on 7 October
2015.

The Bank Risk Management (BRM) qualification is a two-module intermediate level qualification on bank risk management. It provides a qualitative introduction to bank risk and bank risk management. The aim is to produce a highly accessible guide to the practices and procedures for managing risk in banking to as wide an audience as possible.
