Common Core Parent Nights

Coming Soon to H.B.C.P! In an

effort to help inform our parents

with additional information in

regards to Common Core, as well as

provide strategies for you to better

help your child at home, we will host

Common Core Parent Nights this

month. The Common Core Parent

Nights are important for each grade

level, especially our testing grades

3rd-7th grade. Parents in testing

grades, we will provide information

on how to help your child succeed

on the state test in May. Flyers will

be sent home soon. Dates and times

are located to the left under

“Important Dates.”

April

Common Core Parent Nights 5th grade: Monday, April 20th from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

3rd and 4th grade: Tuesday, April 21st from 4:30-

5:30 p.m.

6th and 7th grade: Tuesday, April 21st from 5:15-

6:15 p.m.

Kinder and 1st grade: Wednesday, April 22nd

from 2:15-3:15 p.m.

2nd grade: Wednesday, April 22nd from

3:15-4:15 p.m.

May 4th – May 22nd

SMARTER BALANCED TESTING: Grades 3-7.

Exact schedule TBD

(NOTE: 5th Grade Science CST & CAPA will be

held during these dates as well)

May 4th-May 8th

Teacher Appreciation Week

Spring Pictures Spring pictures will take place on Wednesday, April 8th. Scholars

with a prepayment or money order form, will take pictures on this day. All scholars do not take

pictures in the Spring. All scholars who are taking pictures must wear

their dress uniform. If you have any additional questions, please

contact the front office.

H.B.C.P is Still Enrolling for the 2015-2016 School Year!!

We are now enrolling for the 2015-2016 school year! We are enrolling scholars in

grades K-8. If you know someone, send them our way. Anyone interested can go to the

front office and see our school Secretary Ms. Becerra for more information. If you refer someone, you will receive a FREE Hardy Brown College Prep shirt upon complete

enrollment.

7th grade Parents/Families

Last week I sent home information in

regards to the Washington D.C. trip I

am planning for our 8th grade class next

school year. This is a reminder that the

parent information night is this

Thursday, April 9th at 5:30 p.m. in the

MPR. I look forward to seeing you all

there! I want all our scholars to go on

this exciting and enriching trip!

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Field Lesson Last Wednesday, on April 1st, our 5th

grade scholars went on a field lesson to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo along with two of our other Fortune School campuses.

The focus of the trip was on our scholars having an experience in Cal Poly’s Learn

by Doing Science Lab. The campus focused on key standards to help our

scholars with their performance on the Science CST coming up in May. They had

a great time! Thank you to all the parents who allowed our scholars the

opportunity to have this experience and thank you to the staff who helped with

chaperoning and making this trip

happen. See a few pictures below.
