Road Safety Concerns were raised at the last P&C meeting regarding students and parents using Cooinbill Crescent safely. Please be conscious of the speed of some cars using this street as often it is not parents using this road during school hours. We also ask that you do not call your child across the street but rather come to the gate to collect them. It has also been observed that parents are encouraging their child/children to enter and exit the car via the door facing onto the road rather than using the footpath facing doors. By exiting straight onto the road the child is putting themselves at risk of being hit. Safety for all is our paramount concern. Leave I will be taking leave from Monday 3rd November until Thursday 27th November. Whilst on leave Mrs Jenkyn will be the relieving Principal and Mr Fletcher will undertake the relieving Assistant Principal role for Stage 1. Sally Davidson Principal

Cricket 2014 Game 1 KPS vs Tumbarumba A fantastic team effort resulted in a solid win for KPS. KPS scored a solid 4 for 159 (Connor Willis 47 N/O Retired, Leon Hemmings 37, Emerson McLaren 31) in the Innings. Tumbarumba were kept to 7 for 76 due to great fielding and tight bowling. Standouts with the ball included Leon Hemmings 2 wickets, Liam Davies 2 wickets, and 1 wicket each to Emerson McLaren, Rhys Jerrick and Kyle Hockley. Emerson and Connor’s batting partnership was a highlight and showed great determination and skill.
Game 2 KPS vs Wagga Wagga PS Our Round 2 Game against Wagga Wagga PS was unfortunately a tight loss. It was played on the day after the night time PSSA AFL Knock-Out Grand Final. Many of our boys were carrying little injuries and tired bodies into the clash. After a rocky start with the loss of quick wickets the KPS boys fought back well to post a score of 9 for 64 (Riley Cole 17, Koby Wilson 16, Connor Willis 5). We were able to produce a number of chances early in the Wagga Wagga PS innings but were unable to hang onto a few tough catches. This allowed the Wagga Wagga PS batsmen to capitalise and post a score of 2 for 80. Kyle Hockley was the pick of our bowlers with 2 wickets.
NSW
PPSA Boys Touch Knockout
2014
Game1 KPS vs Turvey Park PS A fantastic team effort with a rampaging 11-1 over
the boys from Turvey Park. The highlight being Connor Willis scoring 4 tries and a 40m intercept
try to Cameron Elphick.
Game 2 KPS vs Franklin PS (Tumut). KPS won via Forfeit
This result saw KPS move onto the Riverina Finals Gala Day held at Jubilee Park.
Game 3 KPS vs Young PS After we jumped out to a 2 try through slick ball work and fast paced play Young PS staged a
comeback and lead heading into the final 10mins of the game. KPS never gave up and dug deep to
score a gutsy come from behind win 6-5.
Game 4 KPS vs South Wagga PS We were given a touch lesson by the boys from
South Wagga and suffered our first and only loss of the day 18-1. Our try was an action packed solo effort by Connor Willis after the half time siren dodging and evading the entire South
Wagga team to score.
Game 5 KPS vs Lake Albert PS We returned to the winners circle with a
convincing whole team effort against LAPS. We were run away winners 12-1.
The Boys worked as a team throughout all of their games in both attack and defence. They always played in the true spirit of the game displaying
honesty and integrity. They supported each other and played with plenty of determination, flair and
pride.
Well done boys on a great effort in 2014.
Wagga Wagga Show Results
During the recent holidays, Wagga Wagga celebrated their 150th Show. The children at Kooringal Public School have entered items for many years and they once again made a large contribution to the 2300 entries in the School Work section. Children from Kindergarten through to Year 6 entered numerous items in a variety of categories including; digital photography, visual arts, computer art, integrated theme work, poetry and handwriting. Congratulations to the children who had items in the show and to those who received, Highly Commended, Second Prize and First Prize for their entries. Nyibol Khol was surprised and delighted to receive a ribbon for her Champion Craft Exhibit. Nyibol made her robot from recycled materials and it obviously impressed the judges!
