Notices and Events

Newcomers and Guests Thank you for worshipping with us today. We look forward to

meeting you and giving you a gift, and hope you will stop by the Welcome Table in the

Heritage Room (just behind the Sanctuary) after the service. Welcome!

2015 Giving Statements through the third quarter are on the table near the name tags. Pick

yours up and save the church the cost of postage.

The Confirmation Class meets this afternoon in Lewis Hall at 2:00 p.m. It will continue to

meet weekly until the Bishop’s visitation on November 22.

The upcoming Rescue Mission Auxiliary Luncheon takes place Monday, October 19, at First

United Methodist Church, Del Norte & F Street, Eureka, 12 noon until 2 p.m. Cost: $1, and a

canned food item. The speaker will be Pastor Dennis Hartman of Calvary Community Church.

For more information, contact Sigrid Weir, 444-3277.

Our continuing study of the Acts of the Apostles will resume on October 25. Sanford Pyron

will facilitate the discussion as we work our way deeper into Acts. The sessions meet bi-

weekly and study material is available. Please join in our lively discussion on the beginnings of

the Church.

Christmas Stocking Shoppers - Have fun shopping for small, inexpensive ($1-10) gifts for

Foster Kids from newborns through teens! There's a collection box in the Heritage Room. Gifts

will be blessed at the Thanksgiving Eve service. For information, contact Peg Gardner.

All Saints’ Day is coming up Sunday, November 1. There will be a table in front of the Altar

for pictures of family and friends who have departed. Please bring your labeled pictures to the

office. Make sure to hand them to Barry directly for safe keeping. Photographs will also be

collected on Sunday, October 25 in Lewis Hall. This year there will also be a separate section

for departed pets. Please bring labeled photographs in the manner mentioned above.

The Stewardship Dinner is coming this Saturday, October 24— if you have

not signed up, please help us by indicating what you will bring. The signup

sheets are on tables in the Heritage Room. The evening begins with hors

d’oeuvres at 5:30 p.m. in the Heritage Room.

The next “Come and See” Sunday afternoon service will be in the chapel on November 1 at

4:00 p.m. This month the service will be led by Mother Nancy.

Do you sometimes feel as if you are out of the loop in the events of the church? Aside from

these weekly notices, the monthly Chronicles are filled with information about recent and

upcoming events. The bulletin boards in Lewis Hall have newsletters from St. Alban’s in

Arcata and St. Paul’s in Crescent City, all recent vestry meeting minutes, monthly financial

statements, as well as numerous and changing flyers and posters about the various outreach

activities of the parish. If you need still more information, ask any vestry person for help, and

they will be glad to comply.

Eucharistic Visitors If you are unable to come to worship on a regular basis and would like

communion brought to you on Sunday following our services, please call the parish office

Monday through Friday and request a Eucharistic Visitor.

The Altar flowers are given to the glory of God by Marian Marcellus in thanksgiving for

loving family and friends, and in loving memory of David and Bud.
