Organization in living things

Cells, that are similar to each other and do the same job, are grouped together to form tissues

Muscle cells make muscle tissue, nerve cells make nerve tissue and so on.

Muscle, blood and nerves are all tissues.

Tissues are made up of many cells of the same type working together.

Muscle tissue

Epitelial tissue

Various tissues together form more complex structures such as organs. The heart, the stomach and the brain are all organs.

heart stomach brain

The heart is made up of muscle tissue, nervous tissue and connective tissue.

Each organ has its own specific job.

Organs cannot work by themselves. They depend on other organs to supply the things they need. They are linked together to form organ systems.

1. What are tissues?

2. What kind of tissue do the muscle cells make?

3. What kind of tissue do the nerve cells make?

4. What are tissues made up of?

5. What do various tissues form together?

6. How do you call these more complex structures?

7. What are organs?

8. What is the heart made of?

9. Has each organ a specific task/job?

10. Can organs work by themselves?

Questions 1-10

11. What do organs depend on?

12. Why do organs depend on other organs?

Organizzazione negli esseri viventi
