We walk to be in solidaritywith their struggle for existence.
We invite you to take a stand and join us on March 8. Visit us inthe Ministry Corner next weekend to learn more and to participatein the walk. Carrie Perry jeff.perry5@verizon.net,www.cropwalk.org.

Wholiness RecapI keep the Lord always before me; with him at my right hand, I shall never be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, my soul rejoices; my body also dwells secure. Psalm 16:8-9
About this time, any sane person would be just about over our Wholiness Plan, and ready to move on. Astudy by University College in London, though, suggests it takes at least 66 days for a habit to reallytake root in our lives and become a way of life. This means it’s too soon for any of us to give up on ourpersonal focus to unite mind, heart, body and faith in a way of life that is healthy, whole and holy. We’ve had a number of emphases, from the Scriptures these past five weeks, to help us root our bodywith a deeply spiritual focus. I’d like to repeat them, briefly, to help us hold onto and remind ourselvesof God’s will for us:
Faith: Recall that you are God’s beloved daughter/son. If God loves you, you should love yourself inways that are life-giving and sacrificial … this can sometimes mean refraining from the tasty butharmful, or getting out and moving in healthy exercise. Also, recall that your body is the temple of theHoly Spirit within you, worthy of care. When we care for our bodies, we also increase our ability toserve the Lord.Friendship: Just as Eli led Samuel to the Lord, we need to be supportive of each other in our journeyto wholeness and holiness, celebrating each other’s triumphs, offering a shoulder to cry on wherenecessary, willing to inconvenience ourselves for each other’s benefit. So please … if your connectgroup is working well, stay together. Support one another. Hold onto each and keep moving forward. Ifyou’ve been on your own, by all means carry on. Don’t slip back into old practices that weren’t lifegiving, body strengthening or God blessed.Food: Fasting is an ancient and holy practice wherein we make room for God, and make room forphysical health. Just as Simon and Andrew, James and John had to leave behind nets and boats, fatherand co-workers, we may have to leave behind ways of life that aren’t healthy, even if we are fond ofthem, to follow in the ways of the Lord.Fortitude: Jesus struggled with the unclean spirits that literally bedeviled his people. He does the samefor us in the areas of our greatest weakness, where we are most in need of His strength. Some of ourgreatest goods can only be achieved with struggle, and we never want to struggle alone. Jesus wants toaccompany us and fortify us on our way.Fitness: The whole of Jesus’ ministry was peppered by moments when he would lay hands on thosewho suffered, whose health was compromised. By His touch, theywere healed. We, too, stand in need of His healing grace in our livesof faith, and in our bodies. Prayerfully, we need to approach Himwith confidence, trusting that He can work greater things in us thanwe could ever accomplish for ourselves.
Siempre adelante!
