Patterns for Quilts of Valor

Here are some links to a number of websites that have free patterns.

Bonnie Hunter’s website -- http://quiltville.blogspot.com/p/free-patterns.html (check out the ‘Fourth of

July’ pattern)

Mary Johnson’s website http://www.maryquilts.com/ideas-for-qovs/

From the Quilts of Valor Foundation http://www.qovf.org/quilt-patterns/ -- the pattern for the quilt made

at the Oct 2016 meeting came from here.

http://www.modabakeshop.com/ has a lot of quilt patterns, generally using pre-cuts (5” squares, 2.5” jelly

roll strips, fat quarters, 10” squares) – of varying degrees of difficulty (easy, moderate, ambitious)

Most of the fabric manufacturer websites have free patterns available for download –

Look through your current quilting patterns – Yellow Brick Road or Lucky Stars by Atkinson Designs

both meet the size requirements for a Quilt of Valor (QOV) if you make the lap sized quilt.

Look through any quilting magazines you subscribe to. Many quilts pictured in magazines can be used to

make a QOV by using the directions provided or by resizing (adding or removing a row).

QOV finished size -- min size 55” x 65”; max size 72” x 90”
