The E-Book E-Books accounted for 8.5% of all Book Sales in the US in May

2010, compared with 2.9% in May 2009. As of January, 2011, e-book sales are less than 1%- 3% of all book

sales in Australia. 80% of Australian readers still very much prefer a traditionally

bound book to anything on a screen. (SMH Jan) Tertiary libraries- E-Format Preferred.• For example: Random House Australia currently have

approximately 6,000 e-books ready to read, including international and Australian titles, and an ongoing e-book program of new releases

• Apps abound!• The great teen paradox!

pleasure.• The need for permanent

historical artifacts.• Higher degree of

distraction when reading from a screen.
