DESCRIPTION

Pipe Flow Due to Oscillating Pressure GradientFluid mechanics

TRANSCRIPT

  • There is an overshoot mean velocity near the wall , which occurs when

    B=2.284.

    This effect is characteristic of oscillating duct flows and was first noted

    by Richardson's and Tyler (1929) in a tube flow experiment. The

    overshoot now called Richardson's annular effect.
