“Why it is important is because crime was born during the Prohibition. People hijacked alcohol that was on its way to government warehouses where it would be sold for medicinal purposes. New criminals were formed such as the bootleggers and rumrunners.

“Jazz was the music of popular choice and some of the best known musicians were jazz musicians including Duke Ellington and Al Jolson. During the 20's men's fashions became less stuffy and they tried to look more youthful but women's fashions changed much more drastically with women.”
