THE POPULATION OF SPAINPopulation densityPopulation of Spain is

distributed unevenly.It is densely populated in

some areas and sparsely populated in others.

Population changesIn 1900 Spain had 18

million inhabitants. Today , it has 46 million.

This growth has happened because:

- Natural growth- Migratory balance.

Characteristics of the population in Spain.

1. There are slightly more women than men.

2. Young people under the age of 16

represents 17% of the population.

3. The age group between the ages of 16 and

64 represents 66% of the population

4. People over the age of 65 represent 17% of

the population

5. The immigrant population represents about

12%.
