Participants will learn the basic elements of a Project-Based Learning unit.Participants will create a Project-Based Learning Unit in the form of a Google Trek.

WHAT IS PROJECT BASED LEARNINGA dynamic approach to teaching in which students explore real-world problems and challenges. Students learn by doing.Learning results in demonstrations of performance.Students create something that demonstrates their learning.

The project for student completion is in the form of a Google Map

Teacher places checkpoints or pushpin marks on the map.

Each checkpoint or pushpin on the map may contain text, pictures, video, and links to other sites.

The use of the Google Map makes it so research information is in one convenient location.

Checkpoints and pushpin locations guide and scaffold student research.

Use of web 2.0 tools to promote collaboration and interaction among students.
