Instead of going to the Backstage View to use the Save As option, you can add the icon to your Quick Access Toolbar.Select the down arrow to the right of your Quick Access Toolbar. Choose More Commands.

In the left hand pane scroll down to the Save As option. Click the Add button and then OK. Using the Quick Access Toolbar takes you directly to your default ‘Save’ location.An even quicker way of using Save As is to press the F12 keyat the top of your keyboard in any Microsoft application.

Alternatively, if you want to switch off backstage view altogether when opening or saving files….

Click on the File ribbon and on the left hand panel select Options.

In the Word Options window select Save from the left hand panel.

Then remove the check from the box Don’t show the Backstage when opening or saving files.
