THE FIRST SMART PHONE WAS DESIGNED BY IBM IN 1992 AND WAS CALLED SIMON.IT WAS RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC IN 1993 AND MARKETED BY BELLSOUTH.

The first smart phone only contained a calendar, address book, world clock, calculator, address book entries, email, send and receive FAX and included games.

SMART PHONES ARE THE CENTRE FOCUS OF THE MODERN WORLD!!!

*SMART PHONES, SUCH AS APPLE'S IPHONE AND OTHER MOBILE PHONES WITH COMPUTER-LIKE CAPABILITIES, ARE RAPIDLY BECOMING A COMMON PLACE ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES.

TO PROVE MY STATEMENT:

Cell phones are the way that most people access the Internet most of the time.

Students are using their smart phones for research and homework.

Easy and fast way to gather information on any topic .

SOCIAL ENGAGEMEN

T Smart phones improve on one’s social life by granting access to social networking sites even on the go, thereby contributing to improving social engagement.

EDUCATION Smart phones are making an

impact on education.Most smart phones have a

keyboard layout. This gets one accustomed to a computer and prepares them for the workplace by familiarising one with emails and appointments.

PRODUCTIVITY Productivity is on the increase

because with a smart phone one can work even out of the office as all the normal computer functions are possible thereby maximising on time whether in or out of the office.

CONCLUSION

As we have noted in the previous slides, smart phones are making a positive impact in society.

Having a smart phone isn’t just part of a accessory item, it keeps you updated with the rest of the world and makes accessing data fast and easy.

Their constant increase cannot be ignored. I feel that there have not only been a benifit

to social life but to economic life aswel.
