Nouns are words that name people, places, things, and animals.

Some nouns name a

special person, place, thing, or animal. These

nouns are called

proper nouns, and they begin with a capital

letter.

People often have special titles that show respect for who they are or for the work they do.

When a person’s special title is written with their name, use a capital letter at the beginning of the special title. Let’s look at some special titles.

names and special titles.
