Dear Saint Jude Family,
Praise Jesus and His most holy Mother!
Many are the blessings we have received through the intercession of Saint Jude. As a little mis-
sion parish, dedicated to the intercession of Saint Jude, may I bring to your attention a few
thoughts.
It is highly recommended that we commit 9 consecutive Tuesdays for Novena Mass for a cause we have in our
prayers. It is important that we intentionally commit it and fulfill the same. That’s how we make our prayers more
intense and more committed.
If there is any one among us who hasn’t fulfilled the promise to Saint Jude, I strongly encourage you to consider
fulfilling it ASAP.
If any of us has received any favors through the intercession of Saint Jude, it is important to notify it to me. I can
publish it one day for the Greater Glory of God. That would help increase the faith in the Glory of God revealed
through the intercession of saints.
Please think about our evening Rosary. Are we truly committed to it or just postponing it or reducing it to only one
decade for our convenience? There would come a time when we would also be reduced or postponed by our chil-
dren or beloved ones; and then we fall apart. It would be too late for us to return at that time. I can see that it is not
too far.
Saint Jude prayer hour is every Monday at 8.30pm. A mission which prays together stays together. Let us pray
together. It is a time we need so much of prayers to stay strong in the pursuit of securing a property for our mis-
sion. Make sure to set our mobile phone in such a way that we never miss it. It maybe, a good use of the smart
phone.
Divine Mercy every day at 3:00 pm is also a time for us to intercede for our family, children, beloved ones. I en-
courage our mission to consider praying Divine Mercy every day possible.
May Good Lord bless you and your families!
Sincerely yours in Christ our Lord

Pope’s Tweets
LET THE CHURCH ALWAYS BE A PLACE OF MERCY AND HOPE, WHERE EVERYONE
IS WELCOMED, LOVED AND FORGIVEN.
Pope Francis @Pontifex October 11
The spiritual power of the Sacraments is boundless. With grace, we
can overcome any obstacles.
Pope Francis @Pontifex October 18
To change the world we must be good to those who cannot repay
us.
Pope Francis @Pontifex October 23
The family is where we are formed as people. Every family is a brick
in the building of society.
Pope Francis @Pontifex October 28
May we help people to discover the joy of the Christian message: a
message of love and mercy.
Family Year 2014
Family Year Prayer
Dear Father in Heaven, we humbly seek Your blessings
upon our family and our St. Jude family, as we celebrate
family year. Make our family rooted in Your Mercy. Re-
new our families with faith, hope and love. Help us to
make firm resolutions to follow Your only Son, our Lord
with our whole heart. Give us the grace to understand
our family members than being understood, to forgive
them than being forgiven. All Glory and honor is Yours
through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Johnykutty Pulissery was the main celebrant with Rev. Fr. Mathew Manakkatt, Rev. Fr. Binoy OSST, Rev. Fr.
Semin OSST, Rev. Fr. Mathew Punchayil and Rev. Fr. Tijo Mullakkara as co-celebrants. The feast celebra-

Manakkatt followed by Novena led by Fr. Mathew Punchayil. The Holy Qurbana and Novena were followed
by Thirunal Procession accompanied by CCD children holding hand-made banners, umbrellas and chenda
melam. This was followed by veneration of the Relic of St. Jude and Nercha.
The Presudentis for the Thirunnal celebrations were Mr. Shaju Joseph and family and Mr. Saji Painunkal and
family. A special thanks to the Presudenthis, trustees, parish council members, CCD teachers, music ministry

St. Jude Prayer Time
Sainthood of Chavara Achan and Evuprasiamma
On the feast of Christ the King, November 23rd
2014, Pope Francis will raise Blessed Kuriakose
Chavara and Blessed Evuprasiamma to sainthood.
They will be the second and third saints of the Syro-
Malabar church.
Chavara achan was born to Kuriakose and Mariam
in a small village called Kuttanad in Kerala. He was a
social reformer who played an important role in edu-
cating the lower classes of people, thereby helping
the poor and week. He was beatified by Pope John
Paul II in the year of 1986.
Blessed Evuprasiamma was born to Cherpukaran
Antony and Kunjethy on 7 October 1877 in Thrissur, Kerala. She was beatified on December 2006. Her mir-
acles include the apparent healing of a carpenter from bone cancer.
Let us all gather as one and pray the Ro-
sary together as a family before the Lord for the
cause of our "desire to have a church" .

Consecration to Jesus through Mother Mary – Renewal of Baptism vows
Eliminate the Spirit of the world
It is impossible for the man to serve God with the spirit of the world in him. Accordingly,
the initial 12 days of preparation for consecration helps us to eliminate the spirit of the
world. Let us understand what the scripture says on the spirit of the world.
“Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, if anyone loves the world, the love of
the Father is not in him” (1John 2:15)
Look at the parable of the prodigal son. When he loved the riches of the world, he
failed to see, understand or experience the love of his father. Only thing he could see
was the material things and pleasures of the world. It
was when he lost all the material possessions of the
world that he was able to understand his father’s love for
him. Unless we eliminate the spirit of this world we cannot
see our Father in heaven. “The world will see me no more, but you will see me” (John
14:19).
In baptism we all die along with Jesus for this world. The council of Sens, decided that
the main cause for great disorders of Christendom was man’s forgetfulness and disre-
gard of his baptismal vows. And the best remedy it found was a renewal of those vows.
So you ought to question yourself daily “Am I living according to my baptismal vows?”
St.Paul asks “If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the universe, why do you
live as if you still belonged to the world? Why do you submit to regulations, “Do
not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch”? All these regulations refer to things that
perish with use; they are simply human commands and teachings” (Col 2:20-22)
He continues “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things
above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on
the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (Col 3:1-3)
“Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a
friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” (James 4:4) “ For all that
is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of
life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.” (1 John 2: 15-16). Again St.
John says “The whole world is under the control of the evil one.”(1John 5:19). But
there is a remedy to eliminate the world. “For everyone born of God overcomes the
world” (1John 5:4)
As St. Augustine says “Baptismal vow through which we renounce Satan and all the pomp of this world is
the greatest vow by which we vow to remain with Christ ". Let us therefore renew our baptismal vows to
eliminate the spirit of the world.
“The world will not see
me anymore.” (John
“Do you reject satan?” “I do.”
“And all his work?” “I do.”
“And all his empty promises?” “I do.”

Feast Day: November 30
Patron of Fisherman
The New Testament states that St. Andrew was the brother of Si-
mon Peter. The Gospel of John states that Andrew was a disciple
of John the Baptist, whose testimony first led him to follow Jesus.
Andrew at once recognized Jesus as the Messiah, and hastened
to introduce him to his brother. It is believed that after Jesus as-
cended into heaven, St. Andrew went to Greece to preach the
Gospel.
St. Andrew is said to have been martyred by crucifixion. It is be-
lieved that he was bound, not nailed to a x-shaped cross, at his
own request, as he deemed himself unworthy to be crucified on
the same type of cross as Jesus had been. This type of cross is
now commonly known as “Saint Andrew’s cross”.
St. Andrew is the patron saint of Ukraine, Romania, Scotland and
Russia. The feast of St. Andrew is observed on November 30th
and it’s a national day for Scotland.
St. Andrew is also the patron saint of fisherman as he himself was
a fisherman by trade before becoming the fisher of men.
