Step by Step Guide – What to do if you think you have seen or found an aquatic pest1. Photograph it

3 Use object for scale – ruler, coin, thumb.3 Photograph entire sample undisturbed and include

surroundings.3 Photograph sample close up.3 Use a neutral non-reflective background.

2. Record it3 Location3 Season (hot season, cool weather time).3 Name and contact.3 Size – use object for scale.3 Colour.3 Water depth you found it at.3 Environment (beach, sand, rock pools, in weed, on water)3 GPS reading if possible.

3. Collect it3 Carefully collect sample or samples.3 Collect samples of different sizes.3 Store in zip-lock plastic bag or plastic container.3 Complete label with a pencil (date, ranger name,

location, other records).3 Place sample in an eski or fridge. DO NOT FREEZE.

4. Report it3 FISHWATCH – 1800 815 507, if samples have
