STUDYING EFFECTIVELY IS A PROCESS, NOT AN EVENT
THE PROCESS LEADS TO SUCCESS
BEFORE YOU STUDY
• Plan a definite time for studying every day.
• Know the purpose of, and understand each assignment before leaving class.
• ASK YOUR TEACHER IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND SOMETHING.
• Predict the amount of time you need for each assigment.
• Time yourself to see how long it takes you to read five pages of your texbook.
• Take a little time before class to review the material, so you are prepared.
WHEN YOU GET HOME
• HAVE A BREAK AND REST FOR A WHILE
• HAVE A SNACK
READY FOR STUDY
• Every time you study, spend at least 10 minutes reviewing the material from your previous study session.

• Study during the day. You are probably less efficient at night.
• Study for at least 30 to 40 minutes and then take a 5-minute break.
