DESCRIPTION

Remember that a plan is nothing other than your hopes and your agreements about what to do about them. Strategic planning is often taken to be something relevant to large, complex organizations. And it is often taken to be something only done rarely and with great expenditure of effort. In fact, it is planning any time an organization works on coming to agreements on its hope and what it will do to achieve them. In a healthy organization planning is always being done regarding many levels of things from who will serve coffee in the next month to how the decision will be made concerning building a new building. These different types of planning may differ in the degree of agreement needed or the complexity of what needs to be done to achieve a particular hope. It is often also important to differentiate between levels of planning—strategic, tactical, and operational (http://web.syr.edu/~djmolta/ist753/planning.htm) . But it is all planning.
