TheatresRoyal Shakespeare Theatre

Situated alongside the river Avon, it retains many of the art deco features of the 1932 Shakespeare Memorial Theatre. Owned by the Royal Shakespeare Company dedicated to the British playwright and poet William Shakespeare.

Swan TheatreOpened in 1986, the Swan Theatre is a favorite space for many actors, directors and audiences. With space for approximately 450 people, it shares it’s front house space with Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

MusicStratford Music Centre

The aims of Stratford Music Centre are to provide a quality professional service and to encourage students of all ages to learn, enjoy and appreciate different types of music, dance and drama.

MusicStratford music festival

Funded by the Stratford Town Trust and Arts Council England. Starts on Saturday 12 of October and runs until Sunday 20 of October, with a fantastic line-up of names from the classical, jazz and folk worlds.

ArchitectureThe layout of the older part of the town has changed little since the 15th

century. It consists of three streets running parallel and three at right angles to the river, and seems to be an example on a small scale of medieval town-

planning, modified by early encroachments.

Literature

William Shakespeare, was born on the 26 of April of 1564 in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England. He was a poet, playwrighter and actor, widely

regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist.

dramatic effect. It was among Shakespeare’s most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with “Hamlet” is one of his most frequently performed plays. Its influence is still seen today, with the two main characters being

widely represented as archetypal young lovers. This is the singularly greatest romance ever written and has been continuously adapted to each generation

in musicals, cinema and the theatre
