PurposeUnderstand the role student

employment on the growth and development of students

Identify learning outcomes for students in student employment

Identify opportunities for shared training

Outline standard process for evaluation of student performance and to document student learning

Start with the end in mind.

What knowledge, skills or abilities does a student need to know to be hired? (hiring)

What do you want the student to learn to do their job? (outcome)

What activity will facilitate the learning? (training)

How will student demonstrate performance on the job? (assessment)

How will you improve hiring and training for next time? (improvement)

…are goals that describe how a student will be different because of a learning experience.  More specifically, learning outcomes are the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and habits of mind that students take with them from a learning experience. (Suskie, 2009).
