2014 MATE ROV COMPETITION

Mission Scenario • Location: Northwestern Lake Huron, Thunder Bay.

• More than 50 shipwrecks within the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary (TBNMS).

• Scientist and conservation groups are needed.

4

Mission Tasks • Explore, document, and identify an unknown shipwreck.

• Collect microbial samples and measure conductivity of the groundwater emerging from a sinkhole.

• Remove trash and debris from the shipwreck and surrounding area.

Design Intent

• The surface area of plates’ provides us with the need to remove material to satisfy weight standards in needed.

• Side slots allow for cross elements to be easily adjusted.
