The Problem Statement• The number of illiterates in India is estimated to be over 400 million of which 75% live

in rural areas.

• An estimated 58% of children don't complete primary education.

• About 65% children enrolled in grades 2 through 5 in government primary schools cannot read a simple paragraph, and 50 percent cannot do simple subtraction.

• Over 30% of teachers are absent from schools.

• Poor infrastructure - Records are maintained in paper registers.

• No Common School System.– Upscale : CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and CISCE (Council for the Indian Schools

Certificates Examination) examination boards.– Those who cannot afford private schooling attend government – aided schools affiliated to state –level

examination boards.– Poorly managed government or Municipal schools.

The Solution• India has made giant leaps in the field of telecommunication and technology. There

is hardly any village in India which is left out from this excitement. This technology has to be used in the education system to provide.– GASMCS ( Government Aided Schools Monitoring & Communication System)– The Virtual Class Rooms.– Online Learning. – Remote teaching facilities. – Online knowledge sharing.

• Technology and Learning when together will majorly help improve many of the problems facing by Government Aided Schools.

The Constraints

• No common language across area.• Lack of Infrastructure facilities like power, Roads etc.• Religious / Caste / Gender Gap.• Non co-operation from local groups.

• MPLS – VPN.• Remote Connect.• Managed Video Conferencing.• 2G / 3G Internet Technologies.• Cloud Computing.• Web based applications.• E-learning applications.

Delivery Architecture

Network :-• Director Education office to District Elementary Education Officer & Block Education

officer can be connected through MPLS – VPN. since these office are located in

State Head Quarters, District Head Quarters and Towns.

• Cluster Centre can have ILL (Internet Leased Line) with restricted access to Cloud.

• Town/Village schools can be connected through ILL / 3G dongles with restricted

access to private cloud.

Managed Video Conference :

• Managed video conference can be used between DE to DEEO offices for meetings

between higher level officers.

• It will reduces Travel Expenditure and Time.

• Important training programs can be conducted through VC.

Cloud :-• Web based application which will take complete operations from end to end can be

hosted in cloud.

• E learning applications which will have more multimedia and image processing

objects can also run through cloud which will have remote connect to all locations.

Web based Application :-• Complete school management system like

• Student enrolments

• Maintaining Students records like attendance, various exams scores, sports

and other extra curriculum activities details.

• Calendar management like display events, examinations and Holidays.

• Staff attendance, leave application process and subjects wise period
