The Collaborative Look Book Portfolio of Emerging St. Louis Talent.

I’m Amber Joivon, the mind behind this collaborative portfolio. Being an artist in St. Louis is some what difficult. Why you ask? Well, there are a lot of artist here, though we all use different mediums. Mine being photography. What prompt this portfolio is that I was brainstorming how I can market my self as a fashion/editorial photographer. What can I do to separate myself from the other hundreds of fashion photographers here? How can I hold true to my abilities and showcase my talents? Hmmm. Bing! Create a look book! I look up to every successful, passionate entreprenuer who before they got where they are now, they’ve been told they’d never make it; that their passion and determination was a waste of energy on a dream that would never come true. I have been told that plenty of times for years. Well, here’s a piece of my dream in print! I’m the go to photographer for creative, engaging editorals for every designer, model and artist a like who has been told that same phrase. Throughout this portfolio, you will be introduced to a few of them and get to view their work through my eyes or “Lens” would be a better term. I also threw in a few famous fashion quotes that inspired me to follow

through with my dream and to keep doing what I’m doing. And do it well.

Why I do what I do?

I am Yolanda and I am the owner/designer for the Yoro Creations Jewelry Line. I do what I do merely out of love and passion for beautiful and unique things. I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember; however, it was in 2012 that I decided to take what I do to the next level. By being a self-taught artist, my creativity has allowed me to go as for as my mind could wonder and that’s why I love to make eye catching statement pieces. For me, creating a design sometimes involves me seeing a beautiful garment at a local boutique, holding a faceted stone in the palm of my hand, or sketching a creation that I may have dreamed of, creativity can come from anywhere and the initial process, to the finished product, is very fulfilling and rewarding and is what inspires me to create the designs that I create. By using a variety of materials I am able to create a plethora of designs at will which allows my customers an array of choices to choose from for any occasion. I consider my style of design to be bold, eclectic, earthy, simple, and sometimes traditional but always, original. That is why my customers

are able to enjoy their original design now and for years to come.

Rahja Janala

RahJa Janala is a 16 year old Model/Actress based out of St. Louis,

MO. She currently is a junior in High School with ambitions to further

her education in the field of CSI Forensics. She has been in several

runway shows for a host of designers and boutiques from 2011 to

the present. She has also participated in 3 different Charitable Ben-

efit Events because she believes that “we should all give back in

some way.” She was in a commercial in June 2012 for a local Beauty

& Barber Salon, NoLimit 2 Beauty; she has been featured on web-

sites & Facebook pages for Upgrade My Diva, Miss Honey Club &

Dancewear, Ola Style and CWCouture in 2013, as well as 2 scenes

in an upcoming film. She has learned that there are a lot of ups and

downs in this fast paced fashion industry, however, if you take the

good with the bad you can make the most out of any situation. RahJa

Janala loves being able to wear different, unique garments as well as

portraying different roles and looks. She knows that she was born to

do this! It is said that pictures say a thousand words. Her dream is to

make them tell millions...to make one picture tell a lifetime of stories.
