themselves into joining us on

a Friday. The children are

eagerly looking forward to

entertaining you all on De-

cember 12th.

The children continue to

strive to reach their personal

learning goals and are bring-

ing Tracey and I much happi-

ness with their effort and

support for each other. We

really do have a wonderful

bunch of students.

Keep smiling!

What a difference a couple of

weeks can make! Much

needed rain has refreshed

spirits and the environment.

Our storms last week brought

many anxious moments for

our littlies as the thunder and

lightning lashed us. Creative

thinking set imaginations

alight as we sought to find

amusing and comforting

sources for these conditions.

Phoebe, who suffered the

most anxiety, found comfort

in the ideas that the thunder

may have been giants ten pin

bowling, or care bears play-

ing drums.

There has been much hap-

pening in the world of DEC

this tem, with change being

the order of the day. Tracey,

Pam and I have been keep-

ing informed and will remain

busily reading and discussing

issues with other colleagues

as the term draws to an end.

When things are more settled

and decisions agreed upon I

will enlighten our school com-

munity. I can tell you that it is

extremely frustrating to pour

your heart and soul into be-

ing a small schools Teaching

Principal in the current cli-

mate.

Tracey and I have also been

involved in many Adobe Con-

nect training sessions as we

prepare for the implementa-

tion of the new NSW curricu-

lum in 2014. We will be insti-

tuting the new English, Maths

and Science curriculums next

year, with the other KLA’s

being introduced in 2015.

Our presentation day perfor-

mances are being heartily

practised by Parker, Emily,

Phoebe and Charlotte. Even

our two 2014 Kindy students,

Amy and Nick, have thrown

dous improvement this year.

The proud grins on their fac-

es when we explain the im-

provement in their result says

it all.

Well done Parker, Emily,

Phoebe and Charlotte.

All students know their lines

and are working hard at

practising their actions for

Wombat Stew.

A big thank you to parents

for helping with this.

I am so proud to be working

as the LaST (Learning and

Support Teacher) alongside

Kathy. We are currently as-

sessing students in Literacy

and Numeracy and all stu-

dents have made tremen-

Who We Are in Wombat Stew

Charlotte

I play the character of koala.

My costume is a grey T Shirt, black leggings and a koala mask that I made.

I use a sleepy voice for my part.

I climb down the gum tree, yawn, put some gum leaves in the stew and sing

around the billy.

Phoebe

I play the characters of echidna and platypus.

I wear black shorts, a dark top and a mask. I wear an echidna mask as the echidna

and a platypus mask as the platypus.

My voice is loud and clear.

My actions are ambling in like a platypus then pretending to pick up blobs of mud

with my legs for the billy. As the echidna I dig up all these great bugs and slugs that

we made in art and put them in the billy.

Parker

I play the character of dingo.

I wear a mask and a tail. I made the mask all by myself and that is my cos-

tume.

My voice is cheeky and bad.

Emily

I play the characters of blue tongue lizard and emu.

I wear a blue tongue lizard mask as the lizard. Then I have a costume change,

I put on an emu mask and tail to play the emu. I made my masks. My actions

are slithering in like a lizard and putting flies in the stew. As the emu I walk out

of the trees and drop feathers in the stew. After the dingo gets poisoned all the

animals dance around the billy and we sing Wombat Stew all together.

School Zone Flashing Lights Are Coming

The NSW School Zone Flashing Lights Initiative will be coming to Nowendoc

Public during Term 1, 2014. Our traffic flow might be relatively light, however

speed is definitely a concerning factor so our school community welcomes our

inclusion in this initiative.

Thank Your Mrs Lordanic

There was much excitement when one of the children's favourite people

popped in for a visit, bearing a brightly coloured present. Mrs Lordanic, knows

the children well, as her present of a large box of pastel chalk revealed.

Thank you Gladys!
