‘Renaissance’ means rebirth.

Refers to the period of about 1400-1600 that was a new period of learning and creativity in Europe.

Renaissance, largely began in Italy, primarily in Northern Italy. In the city of Florence.

It resulted in a new view of mankind and the way they looked at the world.

• Revival of Commerce and Town Building was more intense in Italy.

• Important industries were flourishing in in Northern Italy.

• The banking empire of the Medici family in Florence.

• Presence of antiquity was stronger in Italy than elsewhere in Europe.

What did Italian Renaissance bring to the world ?• Brilliant people who gave greater influence in the Arts, Literature, Music, Politics, Banking, Science, Writing, Poetry, and humanism.

• Medici Bank became the largest Bank in Europe.

• They supported many famous Artists financially.

Closing comments on Renaissance Italy

• The Renaissance period ended around the 1600’s, and than the Baroque period began.

• I have talked on only a few of the many great happen- ings during this time period.

• My research on this project found many opinions on the time periods for people, places, and things, which was confusing at times.
