Turkey's customs and traditions

Turkey is a rich country in a cultural way.

Turkish people are enthusiastic about their traditions and there are different traditions in all side of the country.

İRamadan is a religious tradition . Visit to the elder ones during this holiday is tradition of society. And the another tradition in this festival is offering Turkish delights and baklava.

New clothes are bought on this holiday. Traditional meals and deserts are cooked and served to guests. Old people,ill people and graveyards are visited. Pocket Money is given to children.Cattle or cow Sacrifice is compulsory in the Feast of the Sacrifice which is requirement of Islamic religion. Meat of Sacrifice are given people who really need it.

Circumcision is a necessity of religion likenational holidays. Circumcisions are celebrated with Circumcision feast. Childrens who are circumcisedwear traditional dresses.

• Religious requirements are as important as the social requirements such as wedding ceremony

• Traditional wedding ceremonies bring relatives and neighbours together and they are very important.

Gold coin and Moneyare given to bride andbridegroom. In weddingceremonies appetizers are served to guests.Everybody dancetraditional dances.

Party is arranged one night ago from wedding feast .It is called “henna night”.

It is like a bachelorette party. Appetizers are served to guest. Everybody dance traditional dance. Bride wears traditional dress.

Traditional Houses in Turkey

• Wooden houses where traditional types are builded in wet climate prevails in Turkey.

• Most of house were Low-rise houses and guests to meet before the condensation of Urbanization.

• Today, some people are still living in these houses. also these houses used as hotel and pension.

Traditional dance: Turkey is rich in folklore dances of various regions.

These groups are announcing to the world dances. For example;Fire of Anotolia performances: their dances in many parts of the world's largest organizations.

Turkish people are very tolerant as a nation

Roots of the Turkish is a nation of hundred years ago, based on tolerance.The best example of that famous philosopher is Mevlana.Rumi describing universal love, race, religion, language, covers all people without discrimination.Rum sees all religions in one. Religions of separation is not getting on well with God. As a result of the issue is human being and religions, philosophies ethical systems are only tools to make people happier and worthy.

• As we all know the fundemental requirement of existence is to revolve. There is no object, no being which does not revolve and the shared similarity among beings is the revolution of the electrons, protons and neutrons in the atoms, the revolution of blood in the body, living beings come from earth and go to earth which constitute the structure of each of them.

• Man is the possessor of a mind and intelligence which distinguishes him from and makes him superior to other beings. …

• Otherwise, the Sema ceremony represents a mystical journey of man's spiritual ascent through mind and love to "Perfect".

• Mevlana expres his love of GOD and reach way of God with whirling.

• Thus the "whirling dervish" or Semazen causes the mind to participate in the shared similarity and revolution of all other beings

Neighbours should help each other in difficult moments. Also they share happines in good days. Neighbours should help each other in every business, regardless of any interest they do with in rural areas. In fact, there are proverbs about it;
