General AppearanceAll pupils should maintain a smart appearance. Hairstyles should be neat and tidy. Hair should be cut, tied or clipped back so that none falls over the eyes, eyebrows or face. It must not be dyed, bleached or tinted. Hair fastenings should be plain navy blue. No jewellery, other than a wristwatch, may be worn with uniform. If ears have been pierced, only the simplest of plain gold or silver studs (round) may be worn, one in each ear. No make-up should be worn.

General AppearanceIt is expected that all girls will maintain a smart appearance with shoes polished. Hairstyles should be neat and tidy and a natural colour. Hair must be cut, tied or clipped back so that none falls over the eyes, eyebrows or face. Hair fastenings must be plain navy blue. No jewellery, other than a wristwatch, may be worn. If ears have been pierced, only the simplest of round plain gold or silver studs may be worn, one in each ear. Shoes must be fit for purpose; very flat shoes with flimsy soles are not suitable; pupils walk a long way and will have to work in environments eg Science and Technology where more robust footwear is a must.

Dress CodeSixth formers are expected to be smart at all times, dress appropriately for the work environment and take pride in their appearance. Hair should be tidy and any hair colouring must be subtle. Exaggerated hairstyles are inappropriate. A discreet minimum of jewellery is allowed. Ear studs or piercings not appropriate. Gentlemen are expected to be clean shaven.
Suit: A suit, no matter how expensive, will always look dishevelled and unprofessional if it is un-pressed or badly fitted. Plain suits in either dark grey, black or navy (no very obvious check or stripes) Shirt: Plain or discreetly patterned shirts (a white shirt is compulsory for formal events) must be tucked into the waistband of trousers.Tie: School tie must be worn.Pullover (Optional):V-necked pullover in dark grey, black or navy suitable to be worn under a jacket. Shoes:Sensible and business-like polished leather shoes (not boots or trainer type). These must be kept clean, polished and in a state of good repair. Hair: Hair should be kept clean, tidy, above the collar and should not be dyed. Razor cuts, visible shaved lines, any notable difference in hair length on sides and tops and any form of exaggerated styles are strictly prohibited. Pupils who come to school with inappropriate hairstyles may be required to return home until this has been rectified. Boys must be clean-shaven at all times unless there are religious reasons. If not, they will be asked to shave at school or, for repeated offences sent home.

Dress CodeAll Sixth Formers are expected to be smart at all times, dress appropriately for the work environment, and take pride in their appearance. Clothing should not be tight fitting. Hair should be tidy and any hair colouring must be subtle. Exaggerated hairstyles are inappropriate and not acceptable.
Suit: A suit, no matter how expensive, will always look dishevelled and unprofessional if it is un-pressed or badly fitted. Skirts / Suit Dresses: should be on or below the knee. The jacket and a skirt/suit-dress should ideally be in a matching fabric of a neutral colour, black, navy blue or dark grey and in a fabric appropriate for all seasons. It is important to ensure that the suit is well-fitting. Pay specific attention to the length of the skirt and the slit at the back and side of the skirt, especially when sitting down or walking.Trouser suits: jackets must be lined and jacket and trousers must match in colour and material. The hem of trousers should be finished to an appropriate length. Trousers should not be too tight or too wide. Blouse: Plain or discreetly striped open necked white or pastel blouses (a white blouse is compulsory for formal events) Blouses should be tucked into the waistband of skirts or trousers. Buttons on the shirt or blouse should not gape open when worn. Pullover (optional): Fine knit pullovers in plain, dark colours suitable to be worn under a jacket. Tights: Plain dark blue, black or skin tone tights.Shoes: Sensible polished leather shoes with heels not more than 3cm high. These must be kept clean and in a state of good repair. [suede shoes, stiletto/kitten heels, boots, and trainer-type shoes are not allowed) Hair: should be neat and a natural colour.Earrings: should be of simple stud or small sleeper design and there should be a maximum of one per ear, placed centrally in the lobe. Jewellery: Only discreet and restrained jewellery is allowed. A simple silver or gold chain may be worn (crucifixes and other religious symbols are acceptable). A single, thin bracelet or charity band may be worn as may one plain ring.Make-up: should be minimal and business-like and nail varnish if worn should be un-chipped. Tattoos or body piercing: (ears excepted as outlined above) are not allowed.

Shop: The Lester Bowden shop is at The Old Spread Eagle, High Street, Epsom. Opening times are 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Contact 01372 747475 or office@lesterbowden.co.uk
Mail Order: A full mail order service is available on 01372 747475 during normal shop hours. All major credit cards are accepted.

Nearly New Shop: A nearly new uniform shop is run by the FSA, based in Philp House, and is open several times a term (please see FSA Nearly-New Uniform Shop webpage for details).Parents whose children have not yet started the School are welcome to use this service.
Bespoke Clothing: School uniform items can be made to order if required. This service normally takes six to eight weeks, and an alteration service is available and normally takes seven to ten days.
Name Tapes: It is essential that clothing is labelled. Lester Bowden offers a full range of name tapes including iron-on and sew-on for clothes and self adhesive for shoes.
