A NOTE FROM FATHER ANDREW
Dear Parish Family,
I hope you are enjoying the final days of summer and vacation time. We are looking forward to our fami-
lies return and to another great year for our Family Faith Formation Program LIFT starting the Weekend
of September 17th – 18th. Also starting up that weekend are the Children’s Word - Faith Explorers and
Kidzone for infants to kindergarten. Some children have already approached me about there return. All
of these ministries are in need of ministers. Please consider taking The Next Step and give a little of your
time to help. Next Step forms can be found on the tables ant the church entrances and also at the welcome
and information center. Again don’t forget our parish Ministry Rally ONE DAY on September 12th at
7:00pm. If you are presently involved with a ministry or are thinking about ministry this is for you. Come
and join us.
Today Jesus instructs us to be generous enough to serve others without expecting repayment. At least,
without expecting to be repaid in this life. It’s interesting that the Gospel concludes with Jesus’ promise that
if we follow this teaching, we “will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” In other words, God will
“repay” our generosity on earth by welcoming us into heaven. In essence, Jesus tells us to use our money
for the sake of others, not just to assure our own earthly comfort. Instead of investing everything in a bank,
Jesus asks us to invest in the poor. After all, no bank on earth can possibly provide the infinite rate of return
that Jesus promises. Really, what better investment could there possibly be?
Have a wonderful week.
See you on the weekend.

“Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be
because of their inability to repay you." Luke 14:13 -14
We have a difficult time with the concept of giving without expecting something in return.
Even when we give to charity we often want something in return – a raffle ticket, a dinner, or a chance
to play golf. Yet, as Christian stewards we need to remember that the true reward for our giving
awaits us in heaven.

Please visit our website, http://holyeucharist.org/#/faith-in-our-future, to read the latest update on Faith in Our Future
from the Diocese of Trenton. This month, our parishes are getting a clearer idea of what that new course might look like fol-
lowing the issuance of preliminary recommendations ( found on the website) by the Diocesan Planning Commission for our
Cohort of Holy Eucharist, St. Mary of the Lakes, St John Neumann, St. Joan of Arc and St. Issac Jogues.
Join our ministry team! We still have openings for several key ministry positions.
These positions require an active & growing relationship with God and a genuine care for the parents & children of our faith
community. If you feel the calling to help guide our children in the Catholic faith please call Father Andrew at 268 8383.
Kidzone:
We are seeking a volunteer Kidzone Coordinator to be part of our children’s ministry team. The Coordinator’s main objec-
tive is to strengthen the leadership of and participation in Holy Eucharist pre-school ministry. The coordinator is responsible
for leading, managing, and overseeing the weekend preschool program and it’s volunteers. A faith based curriculum appro-
priate for pre-school children will be provided to follow to include worship through song & activities in a small group setting.
Kidzone is worship & play for kids ages 6 months-Kindergarten, meets for the duration of the Mass each weekend at 5:00pm
Saturday, 8:30am and 10:30am Sunday during the school year. Kidzone is offered at all masses on LIFT! Faith formation
weekends (including 6:00pm Sunday). With a strong team, the coordinator would not need to be present at each session.
RCIA for Children
There is an opening for an RCIA for Children Coordinator to be part of our volunteer ministry team. As coordinator, you
will journey with children in their preparation and to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
Training is available through the Diocese or through online programs.
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) for children is a two year process that invites any child age 7 to 14 interested in
searching the Catholic Faith to discover what the Catholic Church teaches and believes. It is open to un-baptized children,
children baptized in another faith tradition, and children who may be baptized but who have not practiced their Catholic
faith regularly. This process is accomplished in a comfortable, friendly and informal environment designed for children. The
children attend 8:30 am mass and are dismissed after the gospel. Their small group instructional gathering then takes place
for approximately 1 hour each week between September and May.
Group Leaders and Aides – LIFT! Faith Formation program
Join our team of dynamic group leaders and aides who lead children in a small group during our monthly faith formation
sessions. Curriculum materials and training are provided. Leaders commit their service for one session during each of the
nine months of LIFT – September to May. Enrollment fee is waived for Group Leaders. For more information contact
Donna Remaley at 609 268 7742 or dremaley@holyeucharist.org
The Trenton Diocese has mandated that all parishes comply with the “Protecting God’s Children” Program. Diocesan policy requires
background checks for all volunteers who have contact with children and young people. Background checks will be obtained through fin-
gerprint analysis conducted by the New Jersey State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A Volunteer Application and Code of
Conduct must also be completed. All volunteers are required to attend a Virtus “Protecting God’s Children” session.
