  • SKF Results ReporterAdaptable and accessible technology to improve reliability

SKF Results Reporter is a data management and reporting system that provides a complete solution for organisations of all sizes. Available in modular packages, from a ground level reporting tool to a fully-enabled web portal for data mining and analysis, you can select the combination that will best meet the needs of your business.

This flexibility allows Results Reporter to benefit any organisation, from the small, stand-alone site to the multi-national company with assets at locations all over the world. The end result is a consistent, familiar single portal that lets you view the whole reliability picture. Personnel can collect information at one site, analyse it at another and view the information from many locations, making reliability management easier for you. SKF can deliver full capabilities to your staff to manage the information or provide full analysis service and recommend actions to imrove reliability.

Results Reporter is a valuable tool for the analyst who reviews collected data and makes recommendations. Maintenance, operations, engineering and management personnel use the reports for targeted decision making and appropriate action.

Results Reporter gives you the capability to stay organised and in control of your reliability programme, at any time, from anywhere, optimising your resources and maximising your results.

Comprehensive capabilitiesReliability data can be analysed in a variety of ways and presented in-depth or in summary form to meet the requirements of users with varying needs. Results Reporter produces uniform, easy-to-read graphs, charts and reports with just a few keystrokes.

With actionable reliability information at your fingertips, you have the power to work proactively rather than reactively.

Figure 1.Level III provides plant summary information at a glance.

Figure 2.Status impact on operations can also be viewed in Level III.

Figure 3.In-depth data detail can be accessed via Level III.

  • Continuous improvementTo operate a world-class reliability programme you need to constantly review and analyse the effectiveness of your programme over a wide range of criteria. Results Reporter uses historical data and feedback to enable learning and improve reliability.

Results Reporter lets you recommend maintenance tasks based on data that has been collected and analysed. The continuous improvement loop is completed as the system allows you to identify particular problem areas and opportunities for improvement, by use of Mean Time Between Exception (MTBE) (Figure 4), fault summary (Figure 5), machinery template analysis (Figure 6) and percent exceptions by condition monitoring technique (Figure 7). Additional reports include detailed cost analysis, cost analysis summary and compliance reporting.

Do the right thing at the right timeAccessible at anytime via a dedicated web portal, Results Reporter is an excellent solution for organisations with personnel at remote locations from the assets being monitored, or for companies that want to outsource some of their analysis needs, yet maintain effective control of their reliability programme.

Figure 4. This represents a typical summary of Mean Time Between Exception presented in Level I.

  • Different levels meet different needs

SKF Results Reporter makes it easy to classify, store, analyse, view and report asset information from your Preventive or Predictive Maintenance Programmes. Results Reporter builds from level to level to expand your capability to have consistent, standardised data to facilitate quick, accurate decision making for an individual asset, a complete facility or multiple sites throughout the organisation.

Plant/SiteThe starting point for Results Reporter is a site that has some form of structured maintenance management, and sees the benefit of embracing condition monitoring as a means to increasing reliability.

Results Reporter Level IResults Reporter Level I gives you access to an asset database (individual or multiple assets) where the day-to-day information, such as classifications and scheduling is stored. Status and exceptions are entered by the analyst with the output being a summary and/or exception report.

Results Reporter Level IIResults Reporter Level II provides access to a web-enabled central repository database, hosted by SKF at www.ResultsReporter.com, where the output of the asset database (data from all systems, locations and industries) can be analysed and comparisons made with other asset databases. Data in the central database can be searched, interrogated and compared either by your internal staff or a trained SKF analyst. This makes it an excellent tool for benchmarking purposes.

  • Complete Results Reporter systemEach level is useful separately but when combined, the Results Reporter system provides full capability to analyse and report on collected data; develop your own reliability data which can be integrated in to your Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for improved efficiency and reliability; and monitor your plants status and condition from workstations or via the Internet at any time and location convenient to the user.

Results Reporter Level IIIThe Results Reporter Level III module further expands capabilities by providing a portal window at www.ResultsReporter.com for viewing all the information collated within the central database. The information can be viewed at varying depth of detail and in different formats. This portal also provides a vehicle to facilitate continuous improvement of asset reliability. It gives the user access to further information, by allowing feedback from site, to assist in improving asset reliability.

Formatted reports provide comprehensive information and save time

Customer problemMonthly reports produced in a word processing program by an analyst were time consuming and lacked consistency for historical data analysis and root cause problem solving.

Applying Results ReporterThe Results Reporter Level I program produces comprehensive, consistent information in a variety of report formats - automatically.

Customer benefitsUsing this feature, the companys condition monitoring engineer reduced the time spent producing monthly reports by approximately 25%. Additionally, all content of the reports including comments and recommendations is stored within a database so that a complete collated history is always available. This then allows fault trends to be analysed methodically and easily to drive root cause analysis, problem solving and improve reliability.

Graphical reporting allows quick problem recognition

Customer problemThe Senior Installation Manager responsible for an offshore platform wanted information to be readily accessible to quickly assess status of any sub system.

Applying Results ReporterThe sea water cooling system was comprised of three pumps and required two pumps to be in efficient working order at all times to deliver adequate oil production levels. This required both detail and summary information. With one redundant pump, the analysis of all three pumps was typically not deemed critical because when one pump needed repair, the other pump was engaged to take over and maintain production.

When the manager routinely reviewed the mimic diagram in Results Reporter, he noted immediately that two pumps were in alarm at the same time. Quick recognition of these alarm conditions allowed repairs to be prioritised and made at a convenient time, minimising consequential downtime, production losses and reduced profits.

Customer benefitsIf both of these pumps had failed and production was reduced to 50%, the resulting cost was estimated at 35,000 barrels of oil per day in lost production.
