The couple’s ceremony and reception were both hosted in the Spanish Ballroom at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. Event designer Colin Upright of Upright Decor worked in conjunction with Tala Florist to transform the space into a dreamy, all-white oasis.

For the ceremony, Colin created a custom white aisle runner with the couple’s names and the date of the wedding. The aisle was lined with all-white floral arrangements that stood on tall white stands. Wedding planner Sepideh Lamy designed the pair’s spectacular Sofreh, the lavish spread of symbolic items that are presented at Persian wedding ceremonies. It featured fresh

white blooms, candles, and sweets that were imported from Iran. The area behind the Sofreh was beautifully draped in white fabric and an array of candles were placed in front. The traditional Persian ceremony was followed by a Western ceremony officiated by Ann Moore.

Round tables were set up in the ballroom and covered with white linens for the reception dinner. Tall floral arrangements with white orchids and hydrangea adorned tables. The arrangements were placed in tall crystal candelabra and were surrounded by candlelight. Clear Chiavari chairs and crystal charger plates added to the fairytale-like feel of the space.

Peter Fong of Ganache Patisserie created the couple’s all-white wedding cake. The red velvet-flavoured cake was decorated with sugar flowers that resembled the blooms on the couple’s Sofreh.

The Rosewood Hotel Georgia created a delectable meal that included traditional Persian dishes. The couple commissioned a number of entertainers to perform at their event including Persian dancers from the Vancouver Pars National Ballet, DJ Ali Fard and percussionist Farshad. Each guest was gifted with a collection of Persian poetry wrapped in white lace. Brellow Productions was on hand to document the entire day having been hired by the couple to produce a keepsake wedding film.

“The wedding unfolded exactly as we had hoped. It was the most memorable day of our lives,” shares Kian.
