There are some differences though, such as:

It comes before the direct object.

There is never an indirect object if there is not a direct object.

It can NOT be in a sentence by itself.

So how do you find the IO?1. Find the verb.2. Make sure that it is an action verb

(NOT a linking verb).3. Find the direct object.4. Ask: To whom? To what? For whom?

For what?5. Make sure that the answer comes

between the verb and the direct object.
