Masthead
The masthead of the magazine reflects the target audience, It is simple yet elegant.
Main image
The image isn’t crowded with different colours or images. It is simple and tells the reader about the featured artist.
Cover line
The cover line which anchors the image is in a different colour. This would have been done to attract the readers attention to the magazines main article.
Cover lines
The magazine itself isn’t cluttered which suggests that it is targeted at an older audience. The cover lines reflect how the contents of the magazine will be to do with piano and artists.
Footer
The footer gives the reader a brief outline of what to expect. These are the different sections that will be seen within the magazine.

This helps draw people towards the magazine. The flash offers free music which is ideal to the target audience as they would be interested piano music
These images relate to certain pages. It gives the reader an insight into the articles.
This is an advertisement for the magazine. It is highlighted in a different colour which works effectively against the red background. In order to gain more subscribers they have included a special offer.

The contents page uses the rule of thirds. The contents page isn’t cluttered and sticks to a simple colour scheme which would reflect it’s sophisticated audience
These headings are things that would be featured in every magazine. This would relate to the footer on the front cover such as “News” and “letters”
The image relates to the pianist on the front cover and anchors the article to the

The headline tells the reader briefly about the article and Simon Trpceski. “Pianist of the people” suggests that he plays how his audience wants him to.
The main article, which is actually 4 pages long, tells the reader all about the pianist and what he hopes to become.
Again the image reflects the older target audience. It uses simple colours, white and red, to show the elegance of this pianist.

International Piano Magazine has been tailored to a specific target audience. The magazine is premium priced at £5.50. This would suggest that it is targeted at an older audience of 30-40 and maybe above. The fact that it is a piano magazine would also highlight that it is targeted at an older audience. This is because it is stereotyped that younger people are more interested in Pop and Rap instead of classical music. Due to its high price it would imply that it is targeted at a ABC1 audience who would be able to spend £5.50 on the bi-monthly magazine.
