and went to school in temples.

If their families could afford it,

they could also ask private

teachers or tutors to teach their

kids.

They had to learn hundreds of hieroglyphs

as well as complicated

arithmetic. Up to the age of 4, the

children in Ancient Egypt

were taught by their

moms. After that, they

were taken over by their

father. Then, if they had

the money, their family

could consider sending

their kids to school.

They went to school in hopes of becoming a priest or a scribe. These two jobs were both paid a lot so they went to school to learn how to read and write. It was very hard to get into a proper school with real teachers with knowledge because only the rich families could afford their kids to go to the expensive schools and to get proper education.

Only boys went to school in Ancient Mesopotamia The teachers were

extremely strict, punishing the boys by

whipping them if they

didn’t do work that was up to their high standards.

Even under the rough

circumstances in school, most of

the boys still wanted to go to

school because they could get a

good job when they grew up

since they knew how to write

and read, which could give them

very good employment

becoming a scribe or teacher.

The children back then were

mostly taught by their own

parents to pass down their

knowledge to future generations. The Sumerians

were the first people to suggest

going to school in temples, to

teach the kids

The families also had to

have a considerable amount of money to

send the children to school. The students were

taught in temples. The Mesopotamians

were the first people to

start writing and keeping

track of history, thanks

to the Sumerians

People valued school very highly

in Ancient Greece since you

could meet famous scientist and

poets from around the world.

Only the boys could go to school

since girls were taught at home.

There were two different types

of education in Ancient Greece;

Formal and informal. Formal

teaching is when kids went to

proper public school taught by

teachers with real education.

Informal education was taught

by an unpaid teacher in a place

not meant for teaching.

They learned about science

and poet mainly, and were

often visited by some famous

scientists that’s discovery

still impacts humans today.

Getting education also had a

huge price to play to get the

chance to meet famous

people while getting formal

education. Only the wealthier

families could afford

education for their children

or themselves, since you had

to pay to go to school.

There were also different types

of schools according to age. Up

until you’re 14, you have

attended “Elementary School”.

After 14, you get the option to

go to “Secondary School” if

you were interested or still had

the money to pay for it.

They often learned about

science and poetry, and also

took physical education

everyday to defend themselves from others and

also to be prepared for war if

need be.

The Ancient Greeks, who had a very organized style and structure to their education, heavily influenced the Roman

education. The Ancient Romans

would later go on to influence the western

civilization in their respect for education.

The Roman children got

taught by their parents when

education wasn’t invented

yet, and they learned the

jobs that their mom and dad

had and then passed it on

for many generations.

Both boys and girls went to

school, which is a lots

different than some of the

other ancient dynasties

which only allowed boys to

go since the girls needed to

take care of chores in their

own homes.

In an education perspective, lots

of people consider the Romans

and Greeks working together. If

the Romans wanted to pursue a

career in philosophy, they would

go to Greece. If the Greeks

wanted to learn all about laws

and speech, they would go to

Rome. The Romans also developed

stages for children depending on

their age. For example, the

children would be taught by their

own parents when they were

young and then between the

ages of 9-12 they would learn all

about writing and speaking skills.

Every child in Canada

needs to start education from the ages 2-5 and has to get education until you are 18 and up.

2-5 years old is preschool, 5-12 is elementary school, 13-

17 is secondary school, 17 and up is either University or college.

You could also get home-

schooled by your own

parents and/or private

tutors, but the education

must be up to par with the

other kids in his/her age.

Everyone learns from a

wide perspective starting

from math and L.A. to P.E.

and art. You also have to apply for a

university or college to get

a degree and job or proper

education.

It is also up to your own

family to get extra education

outside of your school

curriculum from extra

tutors/private teachers to

improve in a certain subject.

To apply for a job, you will

also need a certain degree

for the job to start working.

If you wanted to, you could

also attend private schools,

where you have to take

exams to go into and learned

harder and extra things.
