CENTRAL IDEA: Past civilisations shaped present systems and technologies.

Ancient Rome

The roman gladiators fought to the death inside the Colosseum just for the entertainment of others.

Rome has many famous artifacts but the famous Roman Colosseum is one of the most known and recognized as a big tourist attraction and a Roman emblem.

Ancient Rome

Present Italy

The leaning tower of Pisa is a famous Italian icon.

Italy has many famous and beautiful fountains. But the Trevi fountain is one of the most famous in both Italy and Rome.

Systems of Ancient Rome

Jupiter is the God of all Gods and Goddesses (in Rome).

This is the gathering of some of the Gods and Goddesses.

Systems of Present Italy

Many Italians now believe in Jesus Christ.

Today the Italians don't believe in as many Gods and Goddesses as the Ancient Romans did.

Technologies of Ancient Rome

There were a lot of Temples in Ancient Rome.

All of the temples were built to worshipthe many Gods and Goddesses that they had.

Technologies of Present Italy

Today's buildings in Italy have a similar design to the ones in Ancient Rome but they are more modern.

A lot of the buildings and monuments that were built in ancient Rome are still here today.

Similarities and Differences between ancient Rome and Present Italy

In Ancient Rome they watched gladiators fight to the death, today they have television.

Conclusion

As you can see Present Italy is not so different from Ancient Rome and a lot of the buildings and monuments are still there. So we can prove that Past Civilisations do shape todays Systems and Technologies.
