Creative picture.Andrea Carlon.

I think it’s creative because i used a non conventional technique to make it, but i get inspired by a normal random picture on the internet and because i think it’s kind of hard to understand what is it...can you guess what is it?

...so, i was checking some stuff on fl ickr when i saw this picture and i said to myself:“sweet! i never tried to backlit fruit! let’s try this!”

...but i had no kiwis at home so i picked up an orange and cut a slice out of it.I also remeber that the light of the scanner is pretty powerfull so i pick the slice and put it in the scanner.

...backlit means that the light come from the back!scan again, now with a 500watt alogen lamp handheld on top of the scanner...

mmm nice! but there is some weird color burning on the side, lets try some cuts...

...not yet the one,the organic part in the middle will be better..

So this is the fi nal creative picture.I think it’s creative because if you look at it, you cannot be sure of what it is but is somenthing that you feel familiar.It’s creative also because of the way it was done:_fi rst of all it is not a photograph but it is a scan, and when you scan you cannot focus or set the aperture and timings like in a camera, so the tool as some very rigid limits_i get inspiration from a random picture_the picture inspired a technique that i never tried before that leed to a result that was partially unpredictable_i used a 500watt lamp to backlit it only because i had it around... without it the result may have been really different.

...i think random events are essential to creativity.
