Andrew J Cross Master Marketor 2019-2020 Installed 30th January 2019

Born in Surrey in 1947, Andrew travelled with his parents to New Zealand at a very early age as his father was seconded to the National Bank of New Zealand. Thus, his formative years were spent in Auckland, enjoying a wonderful Kiwi lifestyle. At the age of 16 years he returned to England in order to study Art and Advertising, before entering the world of Advertising Agencies and forming his career path. Much of Andrew’s ensuing career has been on the creative side of advertising and marketing, firstly with major global agencies, taking him to Australasia and Europe and then to form his own Creative and Design Agencies, specialising initially on leading names in the youth/leisure markets and subsequently branding. This has led to Andrew managing initiatives in the U.S., S.E.Asia and the Baltics. With an active interest in the creative area of current advertising and marketing he keeps a keen eye on the creative trends and the effects they are having on today’s society. Currently enjoying semi-retirement Andrew maintains a small portfolio of Clients and spends much of his free time providing pro bono assistance to Charities by way of both the Marketors Outreach initiative and individually. With such a background, Andrew’s interests are somewhat predictably rugby and sailing. Although fine wines, good food and a somewhat eclectic taste in music feature strongly as less physical forms of enjoyment. He is married to Carol who is heavily involved in the world of Patchwork & Quilting and they live in Essex. They have three children and four grandchildren who tend to occupy most of the small amount of spare time they have.
