ABOUT ANDY WARHOL
LIFE
• Born August 1928 / Dead February 1987 in USA
• Design graduated on Carnegie tecnology institute at 17
• Worked as Illustrator on “Vogue”, “The New Yorker” (VIP magazines)
• In 1952 made his first gallery on Hugo Galley
• In 1956 many of his drawings were exposed on MOMA (NYC)
LIFE
• In the 60’s started using publicity on his Pop Art, making it very important for it’s development
• In 1965 became the manager of the Velvet Underground band
• In 1968, Andy was shot on an attack. After a complicated cirgurgy he recovered and came back to his artistic life
• Had a very close friend called Edie Segwick who influenced much of his work
• Was a hard person to work to. He didn’t usually paid people to help him, and everybody close to him wasn’t seen in “good eyes”
ARTISTIC STYLE
• Publicy on art – new concept created
• Acrilic ink, shiny and bright colors
• Most of his work was about everyday life’s and consumerism
• Art on iconic people of his generation, like Marylin Monroe, Che Guevara, Elvis Presley.
