Geriatric care which is one of the interests of SAHARA also has been successfully addressed with many individual donors coming up to support the elders by celebrating important events in their life with the underprivileged elders. Such events have increased in the last year and we could see immense joy and pleasure among both then donors and the beneficiaries. We have also promoted and provided our support in establishing Suraksha Oldage home. I am grateful to all our volunteers, patrons who helped implement our programs despite fund crunch. I would like to express our gratitude to our donors without whom we would not be able to accomplish our activities. As we move ahead, we would strive to serve as a liaison between donors and beneficiaries and see to it that we can introduce our community to the donors so they could see the benefit they are providing to the needy. We invite you to join us in our endeavors and extend your support to reach the neediest.

Also attended a state level meeting at Hyderabad on 31.5.16. These campaigns and meetings are to create awareness among the small and marginal farmers who can be benefited with sustainable agriculture. With this campaign there was lot of thinking generated among the farmers and reasons for getting suicides by cotton farmers. Outcome of the campaigns organized in Karimnagar district: Younger generation was not much aware about different
millets/traditional crops. They are very much interested to know more about it. Generations passed but traditional crops were not transformed to younger generation.
Farmers and people started realizing the importance of growing millets, but need encouragement from Government and NGOs.
Farmers asked for more traditional cultivation extension activities with setting up seed banks and promotional activities.
To save millet crops from monkeys and birds, Govt. should help. Government should change their agriculture policy to adopt traditional/millets cropping as a must by each farmer by giving more subsidy and support
Government to introduce millets based food in hostels and schools and encourages farmers to grow more millet.
