1 Preface This document describes the installation procedure for using Dualog Antivirus with ESET Nod32 for Clients using Connection Suite Server as Update Mirror. Installation procedure for Dualog Antivirus with ESET Nod32 for Connection Suite Server is described in a separate document (ConnectionSuite_Install_AVServer.pdf). 2 Prerequisites for a successful installation A working Dualog Connection Suite base installation with ESET Nod32

Antivirus installed and configured to receive updates from Dualog.

PC about to be installed must have network connection to Dualog Connection Suite Server in order to get updates from Update Mirror.

3 Short description of Dualog Antivirus meta installers and intended usage

To simplify Antivirus installation Dualog has made two meta installers for Nod32 Antivirus product, one for use with Dualog Connection Suite Server and one for Client PC's onboard. Both installers are made for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Server installer is intended for use only with the computer having Dualog Connection Suite installed. Client installer is to be used for installation of Antivirus on other computers onboard. The installers will refuse to run if incorrect environment is detected. The Antivirus installation on Dualog Connection Suite Server receives Antivirus updates from Dualog Gateway. Dualog Antivirus Server service (installed with Eset antivirus when using our installer) will distribute appropriate updates to clients (running Dualog Antivirus Client service) on the local network.



4 Installation procedure Before installation can begin, make sure that the client Installation program is available from Dualog Connection Suite Server. Log in the Connection Suite web -interface and go to Support/Antivirus and select the appropriate version for the Client PC (32-bit or 64-bit) based on the Operating System on the Client PC.



Double click on the Installer to start installation. Should a Security Warning pop up, select Yes to run program.

You will first be presented with a reminder to remove other Antivirus products before proceeding. Click OK to proceed, Cancel to abort.

Welcome screen, press Next to continue installation.



Installer will now extract files from setup.

After extraction is finished, setup will install any needed Microsoft runtimes and attempt to detect Connection Suite server.

Select a local folder for storing antivirus updates from server.

Dualog Antivirus Client service will retrieve appropriate updates from Dualog Connection Suite server onboard and store them to the selected folder. Eset Antivirus will use this folder as its update server location. Normally Eset Antivirus will be automatically configured to use this folder for updates, but in rare cases it might be necessary to do this manually. See Section 5 for more details. Selecting "Show NOD32 installer dialogs during installation" will run the NOD32 installer in non-silent mode. This should only be used in situations where silent installation fails. See non-silent installation details in chapter 6. Once the file is selected, Nod32 will be installed on the computer.

Finish screen, press Finish to exit installer. Congratulations, Nod32 is now installed on the computer!



5 Configuring update host manually after installation In some cases it will be necessary to enter update host information manually after installation. This can be done by completing the following steps.

Open Nod32 window by clicking on the icon in the Windows taskbar.

A small menu will open. Select Open ESET Endpoint Antivirus.



ESET Endpoint Main Window will open. Select "Setup" from the left side pane. Click on the "Enter Advanced mode" link to select advanced mode.



Advanced Mode view opens. Click on the "Update" and select “General”. Click on the Edit -button behind "Update Server" -field. Update server list opens.

Type in full path to the folder that was selected for updates when installing Dualog Antivirus Client. The installer uses c:\nod32\update as default path during installation.

These entries are for illustration purposes only.



Non-silent installation of NOD32 A situation may arise which the NOD32 installer can't cope in silent mode. In this chapter we present the recommended actions for non-silent installation.

Welcome dialog, click Next to proced.

In our example case removed installation of F-secure has left something in Registry causing erratic detection of existing software. We select to ignore warning and proceed by clicking Next



Click Next to proceed with installation.

Select to accept License and click Next to proceed.



Select Typical Installation mode and click Next to proceed.

Check "Set update parameter later" and click Next to proceed. Username and Passwords fields should be empty.



Check that Live Grid is unchecked and click Next to proceed.

Select "Enable detection of potentially unwanted applications" and click Next to proceed.



Click Install to start installation.

Click Finish to return to Dualog meta-installer.



6 Silent installation of Dualog Antivirus Client Silent installation mode is needed usually only if you have specific needs for automation, for example when doing big deployments in short time span. To do a silent installation it is necessary to provide an answer file with some parameters to the setup. Below an example of a standard template answer file: To launch setup in silent mode, make sure you are calling the program as administrator, and use parameters “/S /UAFILE=<path to answer.ini file>” (important, use CAPITAL S).
